Scheme Extension#
As of July 1st 2026, additional items will be accepted by the scheme. Watch out for the upcoming blog post that will list the expanded scheme items
Payments#
All eligible containers receive a payment of 10c. The payment for a batch of containers brought in by individuals or groups will be paid in one of three ways:
- Paid directly to a nominated bank account if the customer is a member of the Containers for Change scheme
- Paid in cash for batches of up to 1000 containers
- Paid in cash or a cash cheque, at the discretion of the Men’s Shed, for batches larger than 1000 containers
If you intend to bring in a large batch of containers and prefer to be paid in cash, then advance notice of at least 7 days is advisable. The Men’s Shed reserve the right to pay by cash cheque if our cash holdings are low
Please do not arrive with large batches of containers after 11:00AM as we may not have the time to process the batch
Behaviour#
Our receival site can be very busy at times and you may have to queue to be processed. Please do not get angry or aggressive with the people processing the containers, they are all volunteers doing their best. Northampton Men’s Shed has a zero tolerance policy toward aggressive or intimidatory behaviour.
