Shoulder to Shoulder

The Northampton subcentre of St John Ambulance has been able to purchase two Starlink Mini stalelite services, 100% funded by the Northampton men’s Shed. Our wonderful ambulance vollies have for years been dealing with “black holes” in their phone and two-way radio coverage. Not ideal for an ambulance service…

Our men’s shed was approached about funding this vital addition to the ambulances here at Northampton and, at a recent meeting, it was unanimously agreed to pay the full cost of purchasing a unit for each ambulance van, and to cover the first six month of Starlink plan fees.

Our ambos will now be able to attend jobs and be confident that, no matter where they may be, they will always be able to be reached, and reach out, by phone.

Each van will be equipped with a Starlink Mini dish, A magnetic bracket to mount the dish and a power cable to eanble the dish to be run from the 12 Volt supply in the van.

The men’s shed also offered to pay for the first six months of service fees for each van, amaking the total donation a little over two thousand dollars.
